REHABILITATION OF THE DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Vaslui water treatment plant aims to improve water supply services and ensure water quality parameters within the limits stipulated by the standards in accordance with EU Directive 98/83 / EC on drinking water quality.

The technological process for the water treatment is the homogenisation of raw water coming from three different water sources, Solesti and Puscasi storage lakes and Barlad river. The water is subjected to a treatment with ozone and pumped in micro-filters in order to retain solids, followed by coagulation and settling process. Settled water is then subjected to sand and granular activated carbon filtration treatment, followed by an ultraviolet disinfection and post-oxidation with chlorine.

Water from washing the filters is recovered and integrated in the treatment process.
The resulting sludge after water settling and washing the sand filters is mixed in a thickening tank and dewatered until getting a concentrations of at least 35% dry matter.
