REHABILITATION AND EXTENSION OF THE TREATMENT PLANT
The surface drinking water treatment plant in Tulcea County ensures drinking water supply in accordance with the requirements of EU Directive 98/83 / EC on drinking water quality. For compliance with the requirements of EU Directive 98/83 / EC, the water treatment process included pre-settling and pre-oxidation of raw water extracted from the Danube river, coagulation step, flocculation and settling of water in order to retain the coagulated suspensions, filtering water through sand filters and granular activated carbon filters, treatment of filtered water with ozone, followed by final disinfection with chlorine.
In the technological process they perform new dosing installations of chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) for pre-oxidation, preparation and dosing of coagulating agent (Al₂(SO₄)₃), preparation and dosing agent to neutralize the pH (H₂SO₄), preparation and dosing lime water solution to pH correction, preparation and dosing polyelectrolyte for the formation of floaters and powder activated carbon dosing for the adsorption of organic pollutants from water. The resulting sludge after water settling and washing sand filters is mixed in a thickening tank and dewatered.
